Because of our growth, we are looking for a Seasoned Tax Manager to join our team. Within this role, you will work on Individual & Business Accounts, with tax reviews & planning on individual, fiduciary, partnership, and corporate clients
Responsibilities
Tax Compliance and Advisory
-Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and family entities.
-Provide sophisticated tax planning and advisory services, including wealth transfer strategies, charitable giving, and estate planning.
-Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns, with a focus on compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
-Conduct technical research on complex tax issues and provide guidance on tax-saving strategies tailored to each client's financial situation.
Client Relationship Management
-Serve as the primary point of contact for HNWI clients, ensuring exceptional service and addressing any tax-related inquiries or concerns.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their goals and financial objectives, identifying tax planning opportunities, and offering tailored solutions.
-Collaborate with the firm's estate planning, real estate, and corporate departments to deliver integrated and comprehensive tax solutions.
-Coordinate with clients' external advisors (financial planners, investment advisors, etc.) to align tax strategies with overall financial plans.
Tax Planning and Wealth Management
-Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for income, estate, and gift tax planning.
-Advise clients on the implications of investments, private equity holdings, real estate, and business interests, focusing on minimizing tax liabilities.
-Assist in the structuring of complex financial transactions, including business sales, succession planning, and charitable contributions.
-Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the potential impact on client portfolios, updating strategies as necessary.
Project and Team Management
-Lead and mentor a team of tax associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
-Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and work quality remains high.
-Review work prepared by junior staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance technical skills and professional development.
-Support the development of internal best practices and quality control standards within the tax department.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required);
CPA license (required);
5+ years of experience in public accounting (required);
Experience with high-net-worth individual clients, real estate, and start-up businesses strongly preferred;
Strong general tax knowledge;
Proven leadership ability and desire;
Ability to build relationships and work well with a busy team;
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
Proper phone and client relations etiquette;
Ability to work independently;
Savvy computer skills required and CCH products, QuickBooks, and XCM experience a plus;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
