Position Overview

Our growing firm is looking for an Accountant with strong experience in either Audit or Tax to join our thriving firm. As an Accountant on our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive audit and tax services to our clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can analyze financial information and provide accurate tax filings and audit reports.

Position: Accountant (Tax or Audit)
Location: Jacksonville, IL
Salary: $50,000 - $90,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Key Responsibilities

Conduct audits of financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
Prepare and review tax returns for individual and corporate clients.
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and ensure timely filing of returns.
Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and provide guidance on tax planning strategies.
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend improvements for financial reporting.
Prepare audit reports and communicate findings to clients and management.
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA certification or working towards CPA designation is preferred, but not required
3+ years of proven experience in tax accounting or auditing.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance regulations.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
